The 7,000 Steps

These are the steps that any traveler must take in order to reach High Kjerag. The wind around the mountain, and are spaced fairly far apart, making them seem uncomfortable and inconvenient to walk up. Every 2,000 steps, there is a shrine to previous leaders of the Whitebeards that disciples and travelers alike can pay homage to. As the climb heightens, it gets more dangerous. The snow gradually becomes more intense until the blizzard is reached at the top, and it becomes harder and harder to breathe as the air becomes thinner. Other perils include the many wild boars and rams that have made their homes in caves along the Steps' route. Along with giant spiders, spiders the size of an average 10-year-old boy. The spiders carry poisonous venom that can stop a heart in a single hour. An antidote has yet to be discovered.
