Rules For Obtaining A Summon

One:
All summons must be found and obtained outside of the Hidden Villages. This means that genin will have to gain permission, IC, to leave the village with a chuunin or jounin character in order to search for a summon, or go on a summon obtaining mission.

Two:
Once a 'family' summon has been approved, and trained by an individual, the only way to get that summon, or a summon from the family summon, is to be trained by that individual IC. If another individual also has it, you can train from them IC as well. This is the only way to get a family summon. There is one exception. If someone has permission from the current owner of the family summon to use the summon, they can put one of the summons on their jounin+ character application. If the summon is added in this manner, however, the individual asking permission, and the individual giving permission must be within the same village - this is to prevent seeing the same family summons on different sides of the battle field. This can, however, be done should a ninja go rogue, taking the summon with them. However, it is up to the creator/owner of the summon to decide if the summon(s) is loyal to the village or not. This kind of information must be present in the app, not decided in the moment. If this information is not present in the original app, the summon is considered to be loyal to any one of its contractors.

Three:
Because a summon provides more advantage on the battlefield than a normal jutsu, the process by which someone goes about obtaining a summon is also more intensive, and interactive. While normal jutsu require nothing more than a word count, summons require an actual mission, with a higher needed word count to fill out before the summon can be considered 'trained.' This jutsu is described below, using the jutsu template:

[b]Description:[/b] This mission acts as the requirement for gaining a summon. The character must head outside the village in order to find, commune, and sign a contract with their prospective summon.

~Can add Kuchiyose no Jutsu to their jutsu list~
~Ability to create a single summon of the character’s level with a single jutsu of that level known~
(For example, a B rank character can create a B rank summon with one B rank jutsu)


Note: Mission escorts are not required to gain a summon for themselves during the mission, but must already possess a summon (need not be the same one) and Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

Note: If Kuchiyose no Jutsu is already owned by the summon seeking character, reduce word count by 800 words.

Note: If the original owner is present during this mission, reduce word count by 300 words for every consecutive rank of the summon seeking character. This means C rank characters seeking the summon will receive a 300 word discount, B rank characters will receive a 600 word discount, A rank characters will receive a 900 word discount, and S rank characters will receive a 1200 word discount.

Note: additional word cost can be added if more jutsu is wanted to be included in summon’s creation. These word count additions will be equal to the combined word count of the jutsu as if they were to be trained normally, in addition to the word count of the summon.

Note: If multiple characters complete this mission together they must all be attaining the same summon.


Four:
When someone wishes to gain another summon from the same family (as you can only have summons from a single family), they will have to complete another mission, similar to the first. This mission, however, is slightly less intensive, since the summon seeking individual is already acquainted with the summon, and has already been through it all before. This is the thought process, at least. Below is the mission for this additional summon gaining:

Description: This mission acts at the requirement for gaining another summon. The character must put their skills to use in order to attempt summoning a new creature from their summon family. Keep in mind the summon rules “Higher ranked summons require some sort of sacrifice or respect of their owner."
Reward:

~Ability to create a single summon of the character’s level with a single jutsu of that level known~
(For example, a B rank character can create a B rank summon with one B rank jutsu)
(D rank summons are the exception, in which case no extra jutsu can be added to the summon app)

Five:
Personal summons no longer level up with the user. Instead, you must fulfill a training topic in which you use a word count to rank up your summon. This word count is equal to the rank that is being attained, in terms of summon word counts (not normal jutsu/weapon/etc word counts). Below is a chart of how many words are required to rank up your summon:
D rank to C rank - 3200 words
C rank to B rank - 3800 words
B rank to A rank - 4550 words
A rank to S rank - 6200 words
